The Almonte Soccer Club is very proud of our corps of dedicated referees, veterans and novices alike. Referees are drawn from our more experienced and knowledgable players.
Volunteer!
All Almonte home games require community referees and assistant referees; these are paid positions. If you are interested in becoming a referee, please contact the Club's Head Referee.HOW TO REGISTER
At this point in order to register, the only option a referee has is to download one of the OSA Referee Registration Forms below and mail it into the OSA office. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks the OSA will be offering the option for referees 18 and older to register on-line, however, at this point this option is not available. Registration fees are included on the respective forms.
NEW FOR 2009
Every referee starting in 2009 will be required to sign an additional document when registering (page 2 of the OSA Referee Registration Form). If the referee is 18 or older (at the date of registration) the referee will be required to sign a referee waiver form. If the referee is under 18 (at the date of registration) the referee and parent/guardian will both be required to sign the referee participants' agreement form.
Please note that due to this change there are two separate Referee Registration forms below. Be sure to print and complete the appropriate form. NOTE: If this form is not signed, the referee will not be registered, no exceptions, and the form will be sent back to the referee, who will be asked to sign it.
For additional information on the waiver and participants agreement, please see the attached document "Waivers - Information for OSA Referees".
CHANGE IN CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
As of January 1st 2009 there is a new Classification system in place in Ontario as required by the Canadian Soccer Association. Every referee in the province will be affected by this change, and he/she will have a new classification. This is not an upgrade just a simple name change.

2009 REFEREE REGISTRATION FEES
All referee fees will be based on date of registration (and not as of April 1st). Due to the delay in launching the 2009 registration process, the OSA has extended the registration deadline. Be sure to get yourself registered before May 1st to avoid paying the $15.00 late fee.
Reminder: only referees that have registered within the past two seasons may re-register. If a referee has taken more then two seasons off between registrations (meaning a referee has not registered since at least 2006), the referee must complete a Referee Reinstatement form and be reinstated by the Manager of Referee Development before being able to register. Click here for a copy of the Reinstatement Form.
New Referees. Just a reminder that all new referees must attend a Mini Soccer Referee Course. Click here if you are 12 or 13 years of age, or click here if you are 14 or older to learn more about these courses.
The cost of each course includes the referees' first year registration as well as the clinic fee. A new referee may not skip this step and register directly without attending the entry level course or mini soccer referee course.
