Almonte Soccer wishes to extend condolences to the Melvin family following his sudden passing last Friday. For those of you that did not know Campbell, he was a great supporter of soccer in Carleton Place, being past CPSC Head Coach, Referee, and Mississippi United Boys U15 Team Head Coach. A total of 8 local competitive girls teams participated in the Ice Breaker tournament held in Ottawa on May 24/25. Two teams came home with Gold medals!!! Congratulations to the U11 girls Div 1 team and the U14 girls Prem teams who both came home with the Gold. In addition there were two Bronze medal winners with the U12 girls Prem team and the U15 girls Div 1 teams all winning in the Bronze Medal rounds. Three other teams finished in 4th place in their divisions - U10 girls Div 1, U12 girls Div 1 and U16 girls Div 1. As of press time we did not have results for the U18 girls Prem team. A pretty impressive showing in only our 2nd year as a competitive program. Congratulations to all of the players, coaches and the parents who spent upwards of 18 hours on soccer fields!
